Tallest Building in the World

Many Americans see the Sears Tower in New York to be an extremely tall building...possibly the largest in the United States. Little do they know, that tower is dwarfed by the Burj Khalifa tower. This tower, is about 2,716.5 feet or better estimated at 160 stories high! There are about 37 offices, 900 residences, and an observation deck. This building has many titles or world records such as: Tallest building in the world, Tallest free-standing structure in the world, Highest number of stories in the world, Highest occupied floor in the world, Highest outdoor observation deck in the world, Elevator with the longest travel distance in the world, and Tallest service elevator in the world.

Think BIGger..

Most teenagers and kids of today complain about being too short, or not growing enough, but...someone complaining about being too tall??? From Ukraine, Leonid Stadnik who is 33 years old and still hasnt stopped growing. He stands at a towering 8 feet 4 inches. He is already 7 inches taller than the previous record holder of the tallest living man. He's gaining on the tallest man in HISTORY record of 8 feet 11 inches. Like most of these large record holders, he says he does not want to be recognized for something so insignificant as being tall, he says he deserves no award. He used to enjoy working on a cattle farm but had to stop after his feet became frostbitten since he was unable to obtain a size 27 shoe. Big shoes, cost big money...a pair of shoes his size are equivalent to a month of his pay. He weighs around 440 pounds and suffers from a previously broken leg, and has severe knee pain. Such a big man is known to his friends and family as a gentle giant because when he wants to relax he spends his time petting his beautiful little blue and yellow parakeet.

SURF'S UPP...

The worlds largest surfboard ever ridden, or made for that matter is held by the one and only Nev Hyman.
The board was 12 m (39 ft 4 in) long, 3 m (9 ft 10 in) wide and 30 cm (11.8 in) thick and was launched at Snapper Rocks, Queensland, Australia on 5 March 2005. The humangus board weighs 1200 pounds without people on it. In the first attempt, Nev's dream was to have 47 people on the board, which was accomplished, but when they were waiting for their set, the driver fell off, but they got him back on and caught the second wave. In a later attempt, Nev broke his own record, he put 60 junior lifeguards on the board and rode it through the Huntington shorebreak.

That's HOTT!!!

The Dorset Chilli is not something for the faint of heart, but only for those absolute connoisseurs of very hot food; as well as those with asbestos-lined stomachs should even consider trying.
However, that said, there are an increasing number of chilli heads as they are officially known, that not only appreciate but endorse these tiny vegetables. The tiny ingredient was recently used to make the worlds hottest curry, a Bollywood Burner in a London restaurant. As part of the 2006 programming, the BBC gardening team ran a trial looking at several chilli samples, including Dorset Naga. Heat levels were tested by Warwick HRI and the Dorset Naga came in at 1,598,227 SHU, the hottest heat level ever recorded for a chilli.  Although this is an extremely hot pepper, it has been known as being beneficial in helping sweat out the bodys toxins which are obviously beneficial to your health. So, if you think you can sweat it out, give this pepper a try sometime, even if its just to say you ate the World's hottest pepper.

Don't Blink! You Might Miss it...

I've been to many airports in my life. Ranging from average sized airports in Miami to ones with casino slots awaiting you as soon as you get out of the gate (( Las Vegas of course)). No matter how small you think your hometown airport is...there is none smaller than the Luang Prabang Airport. It is located near Northern Laos (Lao Peoples Democratic Republic). Despite its size, this airport services domestic and international flights all from one terminal building. The airport itself contains a shop, a restauarant, an atm, a currency exchange, and even an information center. Not too shabby for the world's smallest airport..

World's Finest diamond...but it's so small?

Today, we commonly see celebrities or richer people displaying their large "rocks" (or diamonds) on their wedding rings, but none even shine in the shadow of this particular diamond. Previously known as the "Unnamed Brown", the Golden Jubilee is the world's largest diamond. The Golden Jubilee, has a weight of 545.67 carats, is the largest faceted diamond in the world. The diamond disguised in its "rough stone", was discovered in Premier mine, South Africa in 1985. But, even though a diamond is a coveted jewel, this particular one has a story to its beginning. The Golden Jubilee was presented to the King of Thailand in 1997 for his Golden Jubilee - the 50th anniversary of his coronation. Pricing on the unnamed brown has greatly grown throughout the years. The most recent estimated value of the Golden Jubilee is $4-$12 million....but to some that is a small price to pay for one of the world's most coveted diamonds.
