Home Sweet ...Piano?

This unique piano house was recently constructed in An Hui. This Province in China has visitors coming in and out to see this remarkable structure. Inside of the violin part of the house is the escalator that leads to the rest of the building. The house is somewhat of a symbol and gallery in itself as well as a monument of music and art appreciation. The building displays various city plans and development options in the brand new developed area, but from what we can see, it almost looks like it was built in the middle of nowhere.  Though this is a magnificent structure, it was really built in hopes of attracting tourists into the area in an attempt to improve the local economy.

Yikes!

Many people are trying to watch their weight, which brings up the question, What is the world's most fattening food?? The answer is giant steaks, ribs, and hamburgers that can wreak havoc on your waistline. Pork or beef ribs are the fattiest part of the animal to eat. A 20-oz. T-bone steak can weigh in at 1,540 calories and 124 g fat.
you should stay away from ribs and other cuts of meat with visible marbling (white streaks of fat) and fat around the edges. When possible, go for lean cuts like pork tenderloin or skinless chicken breast.
Also, avoid burgers made with high-fat ground beef. The average burger on a bun with cheese, lettuce, and tomato contains about 735 calories, 45 grams of fat and 1,000 mg of sodium. Use lean ground beef, and dress it up,with apple, tomato, or barbeque sauces. stay lean and get into shape..spring break is right around the corner!!

Don't Blink!!!

Usain Bolt is a Jamaican man who stands around 6 feet 5 inches, this height makes him somewhat of an unlikely success in the 100, a burst that typically favors shorter, stockier runners. But he manages to reach blazing speed with unusual stride length and stride frequency.Sometime in March,Usain Bolt was a 200 runner dabbling in the 100 for "speed work," but what he accomplished was worth so much more.  On May 30th, 2008 on Randall's Island, Usain Bolt broke the world record in the 100-meter dash. He ran his race and broke the tape in 9.72 seconds. This new time, shed .02 seconds off  of Jamaican countryman Asafa Powell's mark. This, of course, set a new world record, making Usain the World's fastest man.

39-15-39

These numbers could be a number of things, a locker combination, a code of somesort, or just plain old digits. Well, suprisingly enough, none of those are what we are talking about. Those numbers are the measurements of Cathie Jung's body. This 70 year old woman has spent the last 25 years in a corset, which has seemingly reduced to what can be compared to the size of a mayonaise jar. She has only taken them off to shower, and claims that it even helps support her spine. Although this lifestyle may seem unhealthy, her husband ( a plastic surgeon) sees nothing wrong and has even done several x-rays on his wife to assure everyone that she is fine. Some people find it hard to even breathe in a corset, but Cathie has no problem doing everyday work, which to her, unfortunately means even cleaning the house.

The BIG House!

This building is actually a world renown prison located in the land known as Brazil. This prison is notorious for the dangerous people inside, and what the guards are occasionally forced to do to them. The body count was sky-high at the Carandiru prison, where riots in 1992 triggered a massacre of the general population by local police: inmates, who had even already surrendered to the police, were shot as they cowered in terror in their tiny cells. Over its 46 year history, deaths at this facility are thought to be as many as 1300. The reign of terror by prison officials was stopped in 2002 when the prison was closed, amidst campaigns from Amnesty International, and reports of gross human rights violations that could not be quieted by Brazilian officials. Although there were so many acts of violence, performed by both inmates and police, there was another danger running rampid through the prison. There was an AIDS epidemic at the facility, after it spread it became so bad as to the point where as many as one in five of the inmates  was found to be suffering from the disease. We all know that no one wants to go to jail, but Carandiru is by far the World's Worst Prison.

Errupting with Color!

Many people consider Kilauea to be the most actively errupting volcano, but, many people are wrong. There's only one other volcano that errupts more than this magnificently terrifying volcano...Stromboli. Athough its name is not a very intimidating one, Stromboli volcano is considered to be the most dangerous due to its frequency. Stationed in Italy, Stromboli volcano has errupted continuously for 2,000 years.A typical eruption at Stromboli consists of several small gas explosions each hour, ejecting incandescent cinder, lapilli, and bombs to heights of a few tens or hundreds of feet. Tephra is glowing red when it leaves the vent but becomes black and nearly solid before hitting the ground. Lava is known to occasionally flow, but are less fluid, slower, and thicker than hawaiin lava. Although volcanos are dangerous, its beautiful color is what attracts tourists year round.

Go Fish!

I'm sure you've heard the phrase "There's plenty of other fish in the sea", but out of all these fish, which one is the biggest. Not many people consider them fish, but they are. The largest fish is the Rhinocodon typus...but you might know them better as Whale Sharks. Although this humangus fish seems terrifying up close, it is also known to be somewhat of a gentle giant. It feeds by straining food particles from water, therefore it's called a filter feeder (suspension feeder..captures food suspended in air). The mouth of the Whale Shark measure up to five feet. It's mouth can hold up to three hundred and fifty rows of teeth!!! The shark has a flat and wide head and its eyes are located towards the front. The fish's body is mostly grey and each can have a different pattern of white patches and/or yellow spots or stripes. The largest of these large fish was caught and weighed to be over 200 tons and measured to be over 40 ft long! Even though they're usually harmless...I'd still be scared to see one of these swimming below me!

Tallest Building in the World

Many Americans see the Sears Tower in New York to be an extremely tall building...possibly the largest in the United States. Little do they know, that tower is dwarfed by the Burj Khalifa tower. This tower, is about 2,716.5 feet or better estimated at 160 stories high! There are about 37 offices, 900 residences, and an observation deck. This building has many titles or world records such as: Tallest building in the world, Tallest free-standing structure in the world, Highest number of stories in the world, Highest occupied floor in the world, Highest outdoor observation deck in the world, Elevator with the longest travel distance in the world, and Tallest service elevator in the world.

Think BIGger..

Most teenagers and kids of today complain about being too short, or not growing enough, but...someone complaining about being too tall??? From Ukraine, Leonid Stadnik who is 33 years old and still hasnt stopped growing. He stands at a towering 8 feet 4 inches. He is already 7 inches taller than the previous record holder of the tallest living man. He's gaining on the tallest man in HISTORY record of 8 feet 11 inches. Like most of these large record holders, he says he does not want to be recognized for something so insignificant as being tall, he says he deserves no award. He used to enjoy working on a cattle farm but had to stop after his feet became frostbitten since he was unable to obtain a size 27 shoe. Big shoes, cost big money...a pair of shoes his size are equivalent to a month of his pay. He weighs around 440 pounds and suffers from a previously broken leg, and has severe knee pain. Such a big man is known to his friends and family as a gentle giant because when he wants to relax he spends his time petting his beautiful little blue and yellow parakeet.

SURF'S UPP...

The worlds largest surfboard ever ridden, or made for that matter is held by the one and only Nev Hyman.
The board was 12 m (39 ft 4 in) long, 3 m (9 ft 10 in) wide and 30 cm (11.8 in) thick and was launched at Snapper Rocks, Queensland, Australia on 5 March 2005. The humangus board weighs 1200 pounds without people on it. In the first attempt, Nev's dream was to have 47 people on the board, which was accomplished, but when they were waiting for their set, the driver fell off, but they got him back on and caught the second wave. In a later attempt, Nev broke his own record, he put 60 junior lifeguards on the board and rode it through the Huntington shorebreak.

That's HOTT!!!

The Dorset Chilli is not something for the faint of heart, but only for those absolute connoisseurs of very hot food; as well as those with asbestos-lined stomachs should even consider trying.
However, that said, there are an increasing number of chilli heads as they are officially known, that not only appreciate but endorse these tiny vegetables. The tiny ingredient was recently used to make the worlds hottest curry, a Bollywood Burner in a London restaurant. As part of the 2006 programming, the BBC gardening team ran a trial looking at several chilli samples, including Dorset Naga. Heat levels were tested by Warwick HRI and the Dorset Naga came in at 1,598,227 SHU, the hottest heat level ever recorded for a chilli.  Although this is an extremely hot pepper, it has been known as being beneficial in helping sweat out the bodys toxins which are obviously beneficial to your health. So, if you think you can sweat it out, give this pepper a try sometime, even if its just to say you ate the World's hottest pepper.

Don't Blink! You Might Miss it...

I've been to many airports in my life. Ranging from average sized airports in Miami to ones with casino slots awaiting you as soon as you get out of the gate (( Las Vegas of course)). No matter how small you think your hometown airport is...there is none smaller than the Luang Prabang Airport. It is located near Northern Laos (Lao Peoples Democratic Republic). Despite its size, this airport services domestic and international flights all from one terminal building. The airport itself contains a shop, a restauarant, an atm, a currency exchange, and even an information center. Not too shabby for the world's smallest airport..

World's Finest diamond...but it's so small?

Today, we commonly see celebrities or richer people displaying their large "rocks" (or diamonds) on their wedding rings, but none even shine in the shadow of this particular diamond. Previously known as the "Unnamed Brown", the Golden Jubilee is the world's largest diamond. The Golden Jubilee, has a weight of 545.67 carats, is the largest faceted diamond in the world. The diamond disguised in its "rough stone", was discovered in Premier mine, South Africa in 1985. But, even though a diamond is a coveted jewel, this particular one has a story to its beginning. The Golden Jubilee was presented to the King of Thailand in 1997 for his Golden Jubilee - the 50th anniversary of his coronation. Pricing on the unnamed brown has greatly grown throughout the years. The most recent estimated value of the Golden Jubilee is $4-$12 million....but to some that is a small price to pay for one of the world's most coveted diamonds.
