World's Largest Spider

The Goliath Birdeater is the largest spider (tarantula)  in the world. Don't worry, it doesn't REALLY eat birds. This spider eats invertebrates such as crickets and mealworms, and also small vertebrates such as mice and lizards. Native to South America, these spiders can be as large as 30 centimetres (12 inches) in leg span, when their legs are stretched out. They have a life-span of about 6-14 years and females lay from about 100-400 eggs. The Goliath Birdeater is small and fuzzy...Don't you want one for a pet??more pics?
